Overview

EMS Data Systems are the gateway to future knowledge.

Creating an effective emergency medical services information (EMS) system requires considerable planning, knowledge and research. Data collection and analysis is a complex process, and there are no simple “recipes for success.” However, when building an EMS information system there are items that need careful consideration. Three important questions to ask are:

  1. What data elements need to be collected?
  2. What database software would be best to use?
  3. What hardware will support the system?

Explore this section to find answers to the above questions and many more.
